Petro-Pipe Sabah (PPS) manufactures Spiral Welded Pipes for oil & gas line pipe, water transmission, marine structure and pipe pile.

Petro Pipe’s spiral pipe making experience dates back to 1983 when the first spiral weld pipe manufacturing plant, Petro Pipe Industries Sdn. Bhd. (PPI) was established in Prai, Penang, Malaysia. PPI has a long supply record for water pipes and structural pipes locally and throughout the Asia Pacific region.

When the gas era started in the nineties, Petronas, the Malaysian National Oil company, started to implement the Pan Malaysia Gas Utilization (PGU) Project in the early 90’s. There was a sudden demand for gas pipeline and PPI in 1995 took this opportunity to set up a joint venture company with Heavy Industries Corporation (HICOM), to form Hicom Petro-Pipe Sdn. Bhd. (HPP) to supply pipes for the pipelines. The coated gas linepipes for the PGU III and Loop 1 projects PETRONAS Gas Bhd., were manufactured, coated, and supplied successfully from HPP’s Sungai Petani Plant. The pipe making technology adopted then was the 2-step offline welding process. Pipeline Services Engineering E&P Services A WASCO Energy Company
